Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming Broadway revival of Pippin, staring Matthew James Thomas as the musical's title prince. Fresh off its critically acclaimed run at the American Repertory Theater, this Broadway transfer begins performances on March 23 at the Music Box Theatre. Opening night is set for April 25.
Thomas is joined by a starry cast that includes Patina Miller as The Leading Player, Terrence Mann as Charles, Charlotte d’Amboise as Fastrada, Rachel Bay Jones as Catherine and Andrew Martin as Berthe.
In the show, young prince Pippin (Thomas) embarks on a dangerous journey, encouraged by a mysterious group of performers led by a Leading Player (Miller). With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson, the production is directed by Diane Paulus and features classic songs such as “Corner of the Sky,” “Magic To Do” and “Glory.”
Pippin features choreography by Chet Walker, circus creation by Gypsy Snider, set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Dominique Lemieux, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and sound design by Clove Goodwin.
